In the meantime, Comment #14 suggests this is not particularly google toolbar related. I thought bug #324900 would be a separate bug, but it's marked duplicate (and the symptoms are similar so no complaints here).

a gnome user might help confirm the behavior. restarting firefox fixes the bar until window border is changed again. To repeat the behavior (explained better in bug #324900 but marked as duplicate of this current bug), I change the gnome theme (more exactly, the window borders) and the bar pops up from no where in firefox. I mention it bc it might make things easier for anyone looking at the code (and understand what s/he's seeing, bc I can't :) ). It just feels like they are related, that's all I meant. in that bug (to repeat, it is fixed), this same bar appeared whenever you right clicked and chose 'save link as' and so on. Uhm, yes it is fixed, and I use a trunk that's 'issued' after the fix. Mozilla introduced that option a few releases ago and when they did that they set it as active.

I've gone back to ATI's website to recheck the driver download to see if I screwed up something there, but I'm on the current and correct one for my card. I've gone through my system after each FF uninstall and removed all Mozilla/FF files that I could find before reinstalling, which had no effect. I was still on FF8 when the poop hit the fan earlier today, and I've tried FF11 now with no difference.

All drop downs and popup windows are black as well. The entire window is all black with the exception of it's borders and top menu bars. Anyway, the only thing affected in this mess was FF. If I had one that went back farther, I wouldn't be writing to you now. Unfortunately I only have restore points available for today and yesterday, while I've been messing around with the aformentioned installs.

Windows crashed twice after the OpenCL including the BSOD, and I have done a system restore three times to get back to where I was. For reasons I won't get into here, I was installing, and then trying to back away from an AMD APP SDK install, including OpenCL.
